Nicole Taylor, one of the three sisters who performed as the country music group Taylor Red, has died. Her sisters Nika and Natalie Taylor confirmed the news in a statement released on the group's official website. Nicole Taylor was 35 years old at the time of her death on September 28, 2026.

The family held a private funeral service for Nicole Taylor following her passing. In an Instagram video posted on Monday, Nika and Natalie Taylor detailed their sister's medical history. They stated that Nicole Taylor was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2022. The sisters described her approach to the illness as fearless, noting that she refused to let the diagnosis define her daily life.

According to the sisters, Nicole Taylor maintained an active routine even during chemotherapy treatments. Nika Taylor noted that her sister continued to participate in CrossFit workouts while undergoing medical care. Initially, the treatment plan appeared effective, and doctors declared her evidence without disease. However, the cancer later progressed to Stage 4, a development that shifted the medical outlook significantly for the family.

After the Stage 4 diagnosis, doctors provided a prognosis of three months to live. Nika Taylor explained that the medical team stated if treatments worked, the timeline for survival remained uncertain. Against that prediction, Nicole Taylor lived for another year. Natalie Taylor said her sister remained hopeful, continued to travel, and worked hard to enjoy her time.

Around nine months after the initial progression, Nicole Taylor received a more serious diagnosis. When she asked her doctors for a prognosis, they indicated she had approximately three months left. If the treatments proved successful, the doctors could not determine how much longer she might live. In response to the news, Natalie Taylor said Nicole Taylor replied that she was ready to face judgment.

The Taylor sisters formed their music career in 2010 under the name Red Roots. They released their self-titled debut album in 2011, followed by The Middle of Nowhere in 2012 and Triplicity in 2014. The trio signed with Inpop Records in 2015 and changed their name to Taylor Red. The group released the track Country Money in 2021.

Nika and Natalie Taylor said Nicole Taylor maintained a deep and steady faith throughout her life. In the video, Nika Taylor expressed that the family was still shocked by the outcome. She added that they know their sister is no longer suffering and that they hold onto God's promise of ultimate healing.
