The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 24-9 on Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, marking their second consecutive victory of the season. The result extends the Rams' record to 4-4, while the Chargers remain winless at 0-7, continuing their worst start since the year 2000.

The Rams faced a severe offensive stall early in the game. They gained only 24 yards over their first 15 plays and failed to achieve a first down on their initial five drives. This marked the first time in coach Sean McVay's career that his team went without a first down for five consecutive possessions. The Rams trailed 9-3 until the end of the first half when they finally broke through.

The turning point came on a 40-yard pass completion to Tutu Atwell, which secured the team's first first down of the game. With 19 seconds remaining in the first half, Kyren Williams ran into the end zone untouched for a touchdown, narrowing the deficit. The Rams continued their momentum after halftime, executing a long drive that culminated in a 23-yard rushing touchdown by Blake Corum.

Puka Nacua contributed significantly to the second-half surge. He caught a screen pass for an 18-yard touchdown late in the third quarter. Nacua finished the game with 11 receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown. Matthew Stafford completed passes for 157 yards and a touchdown, leading the Rams' comeback effort.

The Chargers struggled to sustain drives despite some offensive production. Justin Herbert threw for 257 yards but also threw two interceptions. He has recorded at least one interception in all seven games this season. Head coach Mike McDaniel, who retained play-calling duties, called back-to-back flea-flicker passes in the second quarter to help the team score its second field goal.

Injuries affected both rosters during the match. Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley injured his shoulder in the first quarter but returned to the field. Safety Derwin James, who suffered a hamstring injury, missed his fourth consecutive game and was placed on injured reserve on Saturday. For the Rams, cornerback Jaylen Watson suffered a shoulder injury in the second half and did not return. Safety Trent McDuffie also injured his back during his return from a two-game absence with a groin issue.

The Chargers will host the Houston Texans on Sunday, while the Rams will travel to play Washington. The Rams have now won two of the three recent iterations of this local rivalry since both teams relocated to the Los Angeles area.
