The Metropolitan Police will arrest everyone who attends a demonstration supporting Palestine Action outside the US Embassy in London on Saturday, October 31. The force stated that this enforcement action is part of a planned policing operation in the embassy vicinity.
Police cited the group's legal status under the Terrorism Act. Palestine Action was proscribed in June 2025, a decision the Court of Appeal upheld in June 2026. The activist group Defend Our Juries announced plans for the rally to show mass support for the organization.
Commander Adam Slonecki, who leads the operation, explained that supporting a proscribed organization is unlawful. He noted that attendees are essentially meeting with the purpose of committing a crime. Slonecki indicated that officers will target not just people holding placards but also those providing logistical support or giving instructions to others.
The police force emphasized that the arrests target criminality rather than the general expression of views. Slonecki stated that officers will act robustly when expressions of support involve an offense. This approach ensures that those playing key roles in organizing the event face enforcement action.
The demonstration is scheduled for Saturday, October 31. Officers will be deployed in the area surrounding the US Embassy to manage the crowd. The police issued their warning on October 30, one day before the planned event.
