Three women have accused Russell Brand of sexual misconduct between 1999 and 2009, but his wife, Laura Gallacher, took the stand in London on Thursday to describe him as an "incredible husband" and "wonderful father." The criminal trial against the 51-year-old former radio host began on October 12.

Gallacher, who married Brand in 2017, testified that their bond is built on transparency. According to a report by Sky News, she told the jury, "We have a very honest, frank and clear relationship and marriage.. our relationship has always been based on honesty." The couple shares three children.

The London prosecution has labeled Brand a "fired sexual predator." However, Gallacher’s testimony aimed to humanize the defendant for the jury, contrasting the legal accusations with the private life of the family unit.

Brand himself took the stand the previous day, on October 28. He denied all accusations but acknowledged that his behavior in the past was "wrong in retrospect." He admitted to feeling comfortable letting his fame facilitate sexual access, which he agreed was an error.

In his defense, Brand described himself as a "very determined and focused" man. He stated that with women, he was "persuasive, seductive, pleading and flirtatious." He noted that he has dedicated much of his life to what now appears to be more than just recklessness, infidelity, and foolishness.

Brand faces three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, and one count of attempted sexual assault. The trial is ongoing in London, with the jury currently hearing evidence from the six women who filed the claims against him.
