Construction on the new Eastern Gateway parking structure at Disneyland will not be finished in time for the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics or the opening of the expanded Avengers Campus.
Disneyland officials told nearby residents at a recent community meeting that the 6,000-space garage is expected to remain under construction until early 2029.
The company has not announced a specific opening date, but the timeline reflects the planning, permitting, and inspection requirements of the City of Anaheim.
Work began in August on the eastside parking structure and transportation hub, which is part of the $1.9 billion DisneylandForward project. The facility will include a shuttle bus stop and a ride-share drop-off and pick-up area.
The new garage is designed to handle increased visitor traffic for upcoming attractions, including the Avengers Campus expansion, an Avatar-themed land, a Coco boat ride, and a reimagined Tomorrowland.
The project will move the existing Disneyland bus drop-off and pick-up area from Harbor Boulevard to the Manchester employee parking lot, which backs up to the I-5 Freeway. A pedestrian bridge will connect the new eastside structure to the Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks on the west side of Harbor Boulevard.
