DeKalb County health inspectors photographed critical violations inside a Decatur eatery on Oct. 23.
Touchdown Wings received 49 points and a U rating for unsatisfactory status. The report lists dirty dishes stored with clean ones, food discarded into a handwashing sink, and an employee touching their mouth before working the grill. Manager Peter Ouyang told Atlanta News First that one staff member was performing a task he described as crazy when the inspector arrived. He apologized but declined to detail specific errors. When asked if the issues were fixed, Ouyang confirmed the restaurant had corrected the violations.
The failing report was not posted on the wall when reporters visited. Management did not provide further explanation beyond stating the problems were resolved.
Other establishments in the metro area fared better. Zeus Greek Street Food on Powers Ferry Road in Atlanta earned 96 points and an A during a recent reinspection. Antique Caffe on Medlock Bridge Road in Johns Creek achieved a 100 point score. This marks the third consecutive perfect inspection for the establishment.
Antique Caffe operates as a retail shop with inventory dating to the 1800s. Customers can shop while waiting for meals. The menu includes a pistachio croissant, a soup with chicken, broccoli, and cheddar, a cranberry chicken salad croissant, and black forest cake.
