Roston Chase sparked a rapid collapse that left Bangladesh 106 runs behind at the close of the third day in Mirpur. The West Indies skipper claimed three wickets for 25 runs, steering his team toward a potential series victory. Play ended early due to poor light, leaving Bangladesh in a precarious position.

Bangladesh opened their second innings with a 27-run deficit. Shamar Joseph dismissed Tanzid Hasan for a duck in the second over. Chase then removed Shadman Islam for 13 and Towhid Hridoy for 2 within three balls. Najmul Hossain Shanto followed, falling for 10 to put Bangladesh 43-4.

Jomel Warrican, who finished the first innings with figures of 5-53, added to the damage. He trapped Liton Das leg before wicket for 4, reducing the hosts to 35-5. Warrican then dismissed Mehidy Hasan Miraz for 9, leaving Bangladesh at 53-6. Jaker Ali and Nayeem Hasan remained at the crease with 18 runs on the board when stumps were drawn.

The second wicket in the second innings fell when Warrican struck out Miraz. Ali came into the match as a concussion substitute for Mominul Haque, who sustained a head injury while fielding. Nayeem had earlier bowled the West Indies out for 245 in their first innings.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul reached his third half-century of the match by playing 164 balls. He scored 56 runs, including six fours and one six, before edging Shoriful Islam to second slip. His dismissal ended a 65-run partnership with Justin Greaves. Chanderpaul’s knock helped the West Indies resume the day at 134-4.

Greaves and Chase built the innings further, taking the team past 200 runs. Nayeem dismissed Greaves for 46 and then removed Joseph and Warrican. Chase remained unbeaten on 43 as Bangladesh finished their first innings at 272.

West Indies batting coach Floyd Reifer said the team plans to chase any target set by Bangladesh. “Whatever score they give us tomorrow, we are going to chase it down,” Reifer said. Nayeem expressed hope that his side could post a total exceeding 200 runs on the final day.
