Federal prosecutors in New York’s Southern District are asking a judge to sentence Oren Alexander, Alon Alexander, and Tal Alexander to life in prison. The three brothers, who were former luxury real estate brokers, are scheduled to be sentenced in a New York City courtroom on Tuesday, October 27.

The men were convicted in March on 10 counts, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and sex trafficking by force. The trial featured testimony from 11 women who said they were lured, drugged, and sexually assaulted over several years. Six of those women were named in the original indictment.

Defense attorneys for the brothers are requesting a 15-year prison sentence for each defendant. The lawyers have maintained their clients’ innocence and argued at trial that the sexual encounters were consensual. They suggested the accusers were motivated by financial gain. Deanna Paul, counsel for Tal Alexander, stated in her closing argument, “All the stories were rehearsed. They’re looking for money.”

Prosecutors’ sentencing memo notes that more than 70 women came forward with allegations of abuse. The government argued the brothers used their wealth and connections to target victims. Prosecutors said the men promised parties and trips before assaulting the women.

One accuser testified that she lost control of her body after drinking with Alon Alexander at a New York City club. She described waking up naked on a bed with him. She said she tried to get up, but he pushed her back down. When she told him she did not want to have sex, he replied, “You already did.”

The defense acknowledged in their sentencing submission that the brothers sometimes behaved insensitively toward women. However, they categorically denied that any of the men raped or sexually assaulted anyone.
