Rapid City residents will learn the name of the city's new community sports facility on Tuesday, November 10. The announcement will take place during a public open house at The Monument.

The event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in The Monument's LaCroix Hall. City of Rapid City officials are hosting the gathering. The session will feature the first conceptual images of the new complex. It will also include informational charettes for public feedback. Residents can learn about sponsorship and partnership opportunities at the venue.

Representatives from the City of Rapid City, the Rapid City Sports Commission, and Sanford Health will attend the meeting. Mayor Jason Salamun said the city wants the public to participate in the announcement. "We are excited to reveal the name and unveil the first conceptual drawings of Rapid City’s future community sports facility," Salamun said. He added that this is an exciting time for the area.

The facility development follows a financial agreement reached in early August. The City and the Sports Commission announced a $10 million, 20-year corporate partnership with Sanford Health. This deal supports the new complex and its operations. Under the terms, Sanford Health receives naming recognition for the facility. The agreement also provides Sanford with dedicated space for sports medicine, sports performance, and Sports Academy activities.
